Tom's Guide reviewed the $899 Acer Googlebook 14, highlighting its lightweight 2.5-pound aluminum 2-in-1 chassis, vibrant 14-inch 120Hz OLED touchscreen, and smooth everyday multitasking powered by an Intel Core Ultra 5 processor. The review notes that the laptop pairs seamlessly with Android devices to unlock features like file syncing and Gemini-driven tools, making it an appealing option for dedicated Android phone owners. However, the author cautions that the machine fell short of Google's battery estimates with 10 hours and 25 minutes of tested endurance, while early Googlebook OS software quirks and limited utility for iPhone users restrict its broader appeal.
In a comparative review, Tom's Guide evaluates the screenless Fitbit Air wristband against the Oura Ring 5 smart ring for overnight sleep tracking. The reviewer notes the Fitbit Air starts at a reported $99.99 at Google and Amazon, tracking core sleep metrics without an obligatory paid tier. In contrast, the Oura Ring 5 starts at a reported $399 directly from Oura and mandates an ongoing $5.99 monthly app subscription, though the author found it more comfortable and comprehensive for metrics like sleep debt. An optional $9.99 monthly Google Health Premium tier is also available for Fitbit users.
A Tom’s Guide reviewer highlights the Status Audio Pro X wireless earbuds, noting that the brand reduced the model's MSRP from $300 to $250. Based on the author's prior testing, the earbuds deliver detailed, expansive audio with strong instrument separation and clear vocals, making them an option for listeners who prioritize sound clarity over heavy bass. The article also notes that an executive at Knowles uses the earbuds, though Knowles engineered the balanced armature drivers inside them.
