Apple has opened pre-orders for its $299 HomeView smart home hub ahead of an official launch on November 13, available in tabletop speaker-base and wall-mounted formats. The device integrates HomeKit and Matter hub functionality, built-in temperature and humidity sensors, proximity-adaptive UI scaling, and hands-free recipe walkthroughs. Notable limitations reported include the absence of a standalone App Store—using CarPlay-style iPhone app mirroring instead—and the requirement of an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad for personal context requests.
