Accessory maker Elevation Lab has halted sales of its AirTag Silencer, a tool designed to permanently disable an AirTag's internal speaker by piercing it. While the manufacturer originally created the device to help owners track stolen items without alerting thieves, the product drew heavy criticism for undermining Apple's built-in anti-stalking safety alerts. Elevation Lab notified customers that the tool has been pulled and is no longer available for purchase. The company also stated it plans to use its patent to prevent other manufacturers from releasing similar accessories.
