Both models share an Nvidia RTX 5070 GPU, 32GB of RAM, and a 1TB SSD, though the Katana runs an Intel Core i9-14900HX while the Crosshair features an AMD Ryzen 9 8940HX. The author recommends the Katana for most buyers due to the $503 savings, noting the Crosshair primarily suits those needing its sharper 16-inch 240Hz display and larger battery.

The source favors the MSI Katana 15 HX for most buyers, saying its shared core specifications make the Crosshair A16 HX’s reported $503 premium hard to justify unless the larger, faster display and other upgrades are priorities.
