## AI Recommendation Reasons

Worth considering if you want a smart thermostat with broad smart-home compatibility and energy reports: PCMag reports that the Essential supports Alexa, Google, and HomeKit and includes a color touchscreen. The source lists it at $128.00 at Best Buy, but does not provide a deal end date or shipping details.

Best suited for: Buyers seeking a smart thermostat with Alexa, Google, and HomeKit compatibility and energy reporting, who can provide a C-wire or C-wire adapter as the source says is required.

### Why It’s Worth Buying

- The source says it works with Alexa, Google, and HomeKit, which may suit homes using those smart-home platforms.
- Energy reporting is included, giving buyers information about energy use.
- The source describes a large color touchscreen and says an Ecobee app provides additional control options.

### Why the Price Makes Sense

PCMag reports a price of $128.00 at Best Buy and a $139.99 reference price, a stated difference of $11.99. That reference price is not evidence of the product's typical selling price or price history, so the available price data cannot establish whether $128.00 is a strong value.

### Consider before buying

- The source says installation requires either a C-wire or a C-wire adapter.
- An Ecobee SmartSensor for monitoring motion and temperature in other rooms is sold separately.
- The source does not specify shipping, returns, or an offer expiration.
