In an in-depth review, DC Rainmaker assesses the Suunto Race 3S sports watch, highlighting welcome hardware refinements such as a titanium bezel, sapphire crystal lens, and substantially improved optical heart rate tracking across running and cycling workouts. However, the author concludes that the $599 retail price is difficult to justify against rivals, pointing out user-interface lag, map-rendering delays, and offline music storage limited strictly to manual MP3 transfers without streaming services. Suunto also includes a three-month trial for its new AI Coach platform, though subsequent subscription renewal pricing remains undisclosed.
