Wandrd Magnetic Camera Strap Lineup Starts at $29

Wandrd has launched a magnetic camera strap system featuring donut-shaped Torus Link anchors and a dual-pinch CoreLock mechanism rated for up to 198 pounds. Shoppers can purchase a DIY conversion kit for existing straps for $29, a wrist strap for $39, a 15-mm Lite strap for $49, or a 30-mm strap for $69, with Wandrd providing a two-year warranty.

AI brief

From the source report

WIRED’s Julian Chokkattu found the magnetic connection faster to detach and reattach during a shoot, including one-handed use. It may suit photographers who frequently remove their strap or want a single-point sling, but check which strap configuration fits your needs and note that removing the strap requires a dual-pinch mechanism.

Best suited for

Photographers who want to quickly connect and disconnect a camera strap, or wear it as a single-point sling across the torso.

Highlights

The magnets guide the Torus Link into the CoreLock mechanism, which Chokkattu found made reattaching the strap practically instantaneous.
A built-in Torus Loop lets the strap form a single-point sling that stays across the body when the camera is unclipped.
The DIY kit is described as a way to add the Magnetic CoreLock system to a strap you already own.

Before you buy

Removing the strap from the Torus Link requires using the dual-pinch mechanism; it does not simply pull off.
The strap has no padding, though Chokkattu says the nylon felt comfortable across his chest and near his neck.
