RunStar 8E SmartScan Pro Smart Scale Review: Segmental Body Composition for Families
TechRadar's Paul Hatton tested the RunStar 8E SmartScan Pro ($219.99 list price), evaluating its eight-electrode segmental body composition tracking across a multi-user household. Hatton reported that its 28 metrics closely aligned with the significantly more expensive Withings BodyScan 2, highlighting the intuitive app, automatic profile detection, and pregnancy-safe zero-current mode. However, the review notes notable trade-offs, including the absence of dedicated heart-health sensors and a flexible plastic screen protector that feels flimsy. It represents a capable mid-tier choice for families seeking detailed body-zone tracking without paying top-tier prices.
TechRadar's reviewer found the RunStar 8E SmartScan Pro delivered results similar to the more expensive Withings BodyScan 2 in most areas, with broad metrics and family-oriented features, but noted missing heart-related measurements and a less premium-feeling display.
