Corsair HS80 v2 MAX Wireless Headset Overview: Simultaneous 2.4GHz and Bluetooth Audio
The Gadgeteer outlines the features and limitations of the Corsair HS80 v2 MAX Wireless gaming headset, which launched at a reported retail price of $199.99 via Amazon and Corsair. Unlike the previous generation, the v2 model supports simultaneous 2.4GHz wireless and Bluetooth connections, making it suitable for PC, Mac, PlayStation, or Switch players who want to take phone calls or listen to mobile audio while gaming. The author notes practical strengths such as a flip-to-mute microphone and up to 110 hours of rated 2.4GHz battery life with RGB off, though simultaneous-connection battery life is unspecified. Key drawbacks include a non-removable mic, no Xbox compatibility, and PC-only requirements for Dolby Atmos, iCUE customization, and NVIDIA Broadcast noise reduction.

Highlights
It can maintain a 2.4GHz game connection while playing Bluetooth audio from a second device, addressing the need to switch audio sources.
The microphone flips up to mute, so muting it does not require finding a software control.
Corsair rates battery life at up to 110 hours over 2.4GHz or 130 hours over Bluetooth with RGB off, at 50% volume; those figures are for separate modes.
